My Journey
I grew up steeped in classic American comfort—shaped by the rich, buttery aroma of chocolate chip cookies cooling in my mom’s oven and the hearty, soulful bakes coming from my dad’s kitchen. That deep-rooted appreciation for homegrown, familiar flavors is exactly where my love for baking first took root.
Today, I live in the vibrant, bustling city of Chicago, where the distinct changing of the seasons constantly inspires new flavor profiles. I’m 31, and most days you’ll find me elbow-deep in cookie dough, perfecting new fillings, or scribbling recipe ideas on flour-dusted scraps of paper. What began as an after-school urge to bake something “better than store-bought” transformed into a full-time passion… and eventually into Pinch of Warmth Bakes.
Over time, the blog grew bigger than just one pair of hands, which is when my wife, Sofie, stepped in to help manage the magic. Sofie handles content support, organization, and the vital behind-the-scenes tasks that keep everything running smoothly. She brings a thoughtful eye and a creative spirit to every project, making this sweet little corner of the internet truly ours.

What I Create
My blog is my kitchen diary, filled with the recipes I wish someone had handed me when I first started.

I love taking nostalgic, classic American bakes and elevating them whether that means swirling a bold espresso caramel into a traditional brownie batter or browning the butter for an everyday chocolate chip cookie to give it an unexpected, nutty depth. Not everything works on the first try (or the second), but that’s where the magic happens: in the messy experiments that eventually become unforgettable desserts.
