  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Festive sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the milk.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  • Immediately after removing from the oven, sprinkle with festive sprinkles.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
