Easy Christmas dessert made with a high-quality boxed brownie mix and rich, homemade green buttercream frosting. They’re fun to make and perfect for holiday family gatherings!

Ingredients

Brownie Mix – 1 box (use your favorite; Sofie recommends 18 oz Ghirardelli double chocolate). Plus ingredients called for on the box (water, oil, eggs).

Unsalted Butter – 1 cup (softened to room temperature)

Powdered Sugar – 3-4 cups (add gradually until desired consistency is reached)

Heavy Cream – 3-4 tablespoons (add gradually until desired consistency is reached)

Pure Vanilla Extract – 1 tablespoon

Salt – 1/4 teaspoon

Green Food Coloring – As needed (gel coloring provides the best results)

Holiday Sprinkles – As needed (for decorating the trees)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a mini muffin pan thoroughly.

2. Prepare the brownie mix as directed on the box. Fill each muffin cavity 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 15–17 minutes until edges are set.

3. Remove the pan from the oven and, while warm, use the back of a spoon to indent the center of each brownie. Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

4. In a stand mixer, cream softened butter until pale and creamy. Slowly alternate adding powdered sugar and heavy cream until combined.

5. Add vanilla, salt, and green food coloring. Whip frosting on high speed for 2 minutes until fluffy.

6. Fit a piping bag with a closed star tip (1M or 2D). Fill with frosting and pipe trees into each cooled brownie cup.

7. Decorate immediately with holiday sprinkles for a festive look.

Notes

1. Use an 18 oz double chocolate brownie mix for best results.

2. Let brownies cool completely before frosting, or the buttercream will melt.

Storage: Store in an airtight container (a cupcake carrier works great) at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Pro Tip: The pinch of salt in the buttercream cuts sweetness and enhances flavor.
