Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups

A fun, handheld breakfast that tastes exactly like the center of a cinnamon roll! Perfect for kids, brunch parties, or a cozy weekend treat.

Ingredients

10-12 slices white sandwich bread

1/2 stick (4 tbsp) butter, softened

1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed

3 tsp ground cinnamon

2 large eggs

3 tbsp whole milk

2 tbsp granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon (for coating)

2 tbsp butter (for the pan)

Powdered sugar and maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  • Mix butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Combine sugar and cinnamon in another bowl.
  • Beat eggs with milk in a shallow bowl.
  • Remove crusts and flatten bread slices.
  • Spread cinnamon filling and roll tightly.
  • Dip in egg mixture and cook in butter.
  • Brown on all sides.
  • Roll in cinnamon sugar or dust with powdered sugar.

 

  • Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

Use the freshest bread possible to prevent cracking during the rolling process.

Do not soak the rolls in the egg wash; a quick dip is all you need to keep them from getting soggy.

For an extra treat, add a tablespoon of cream cheese to the filling!
