12 oz. Wilton orange candy melts
¼ C. Wilton black candy melts
1 package of chocolate sandwich cookies
Small sandwich bag
Scissors
1. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the orange Wilton candy melts, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before dipping your cookies.
2. Dip the cookies one at a time in the melted chocolate, covering both sides. Lift out with a fork and lay on a cookie sheet or wax paper.
3. Once all cookies are dipped, let them set in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
4. Melt ¼ cup of black candy melts in a microwave safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until melted. Let cool for 3-4 minutes.
5. Once the black chocolate is cool enough, scoop it into a small sandwich bag and snip the end to make a small hole.
6. Using the sandwich bag, pipe the first 3 basketball lines onto the cookies. Repeat with all cookies.
7. Once all cookies have 3 lines, place them back into the fridge for another 5-10 minutes to let set.
8. Finally, add the third line across your cookies to complete the basketball transformation. Let set for at least 30 minutes (15-20 in the fridge) before serving.
For best results, ensure your candy melts are not overheated and are stirred frequently.
If desired, use a cookie drying rack with parchment paper underneath instead of wax paper on a sheet for quicker setting.
Yields approximately 10-12 cookies, depending on the size of your sandwich cookies.
