These festive Grinch Oreos are the ultimate no-bake holiday treat. Featuring a hidden red velvet center and a vibrant green candy coating, they are finished with a single red heart sprinkle to represent the Grinch’s heart growing three sizes!
Light green candy melts – 10 ounces
Red Velvet Oreos – 12.2 ounces
Red heart sprinkles – 24 pieces
Dark green sanding sugar – 1 tablespoon (optional)
Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Reserve ½ cup of light green candy melt pieces for the final drizzle.
Melt the remaining candy melts in a double boiler over low heat, stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use the microwave in 30-second intervals.
Use a fork to dip one Red Velvet Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate. Lift it out and gently tap the fork against the edge of the bowl to remove the excess coating.
Place the dipped cookie on the prepared tray and repeat with the remaining Oreos.
Place the reserved ½ cup of candy melts into a microwave-safe piping bag. Melt on low power, massaging the bag every 60 seconds.
Snip a small piece of the tip off the piping bag. Drizzle the chocolate over the dipped Oreos in a zig-zag pattern.
Immediately top each cookie with a red heart sprinkle and optional green sanding sugar.
Allow the chocolate to set completely at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
• If your candy melts are too thick, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or Wilton EZ Thin Dipping Aid to reach a pourable consistency.
• Red Velvet Oreos provide the best thematic color, but Mint or Classic Oreos work perfectly if you can’t find them.
• Ensure your dipping fork is thin-tined to prevent leaving large marks on the bottom of the cookies.
