Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

1/3 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup cocoa powder

1 Tablespoon cornstarch

3/4 cup dark chocolate chips

3/4 teaspoon sea salt

Halloween mms

sprinkles

candy eyeballs

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with foil or parchment paper and spray it with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Melt and Mix: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and granulated sugar. Microwave for about 1 minute, or until the butter is melted. Add oil and stir until well combined.

3. Whisk in Wet Ingredients: Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Sift Dry Ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and sea salt. Stir just until combined—do not overmix.

5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips.

6. Bake and Decorate: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Top with Halloween mms, sprinkles, and candy eyeballs. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a tester comes out with moist crumbs attached.

7. Cool Completely: Remove from oven and allow brownies to cool completely in the pan.

8. Store: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2–3 days.

Notes

For extra fudginess, don’t overbake. Cool completely before slicing for clean edges. Brownies can be cut into fun Halloween shapes using cookie cutters.
