Heartshaped cookies Homemade jam filling Delicious dessert recipe

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Egg Yolk
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Salt
  • Jam (Raspberry, Strawberry, or Apricot)
  • Optional: Powdered Sugar for Decoration

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, cream together the cold butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Form the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Use a smaller heart-shaped cutter to cut out the centers of half of the cookies.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Spread a small amount of jam on the flat side of the whole cookies.
  • Top with the cookies that have the heart-shaped cutouts.
  • Optional: Dust with powdered sugar.
