A vibrant, festive, and incredibly easy no-bake dessert that combines the nostalgic crunch of Rice Krispie treats with the iconic sugar-coated sweetness of Easter Peeps. Perfect for spring gatherings and kid-friendly baking sessions.
Unsalted butter – 3 tablespoons
Mini marshmallows – 10 oz package
Rice Krispies cereal – 6 cups
Marshmallow Peeps – 1 package (chicks or bunnies)
Pastel sprinkles – 1 tablespoon (optional)
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat to ensure it doesn’t brown.
Add the mini marshmallows to the butter, stirring constantly until completely melted and smooth.
Remove the pan from the heat and immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until every piece is evenly coated.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Use a greased spatula to press it down gently.
While the treats are still warm and slightly tacky, press the Peeps into the top in a grid pattern.
Top with optional sprinkles, allow to cool for at least 30 minutes, and slice into 12 even squares.
• Use fresh marshmallows for the softest texture; older marshmallows result in hard treats.
• Do not pack the cereal mixture too firmly into the pan or the treats will be tough to bite.
• Wet your fingers slightly with water or grease them with butter to press the Peeps down without sticking.
