Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the baking powder, salt, and flour, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Roll the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle the cookies with Valentine’s Day sprinkles.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
