A rich, layered dessert combining moist chocolate cake soaked in hot fudge, creamy chocolate pudding, and a crushed Oreo crust. Quick to assemble and perfect for gatherings with a professional finish.

Ingredients

Chocolate Cake Mix (1 box)
Eggs (2 large, as per cake mix instructions)
Oil (1/2 cup, as per cake mix instructions)
Water (1 cup, as per cake mix instructions)
Hot Fudge Sauce (12.8 oz)
Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix (3.4 oz, 2 boxes)
Milk (3 ½ cups, 2% or whole)
Oreo Cookies (30 pieces)
Cool Whip (8 oz, thawed)

Instructions

Preheat oven and prepare 9×13-inch baking dish as per cake mix instructions
Mix cake batter and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 30 minutes
Let cake cool for 10 minutes
Poke holes in cake using a wooden skewer and pour hot fudge sauce over the top, allowing it to soak in
In a medium bowl, mix first box of pudding with 2 cups cold milk and spread over the fudge-drizzled cake
Repeat with second box of pudding and remaining 1 ½ cups milk to form second layer
Gently press Cool Whip over pudding to create a smooth layer
Crush Oreo cookies in a plastic bag using a rolling pin and spread the crumbs evenly over the top

Notes

Substitute gluten-free cake mix for dietary needs
Use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip for vegan option
Fudge can be homemade by combining 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, and 1 tablespoon vanilla in a microwave-safe bowl
Serve at room temperature for best texture
